Update on transformation project

The colours may not be quite true to the actual items, but I hope the picture above gives an idea of what the transformed interior of St John’s will look like when complete.

There is now an exhibition in church to show other pictures of what the finished product will look like. Visit and have a look. It will be there 10am-4pm today Monday 13th – Friday 17th September and then Monday 20th – Sunday 26th September, culminating in the launch of the funding project.  You’ll see how really exciting it is and what it will achieve for all.

We haven’t been idle since we secured permission to go ahead with the project to transform the interior of St John’s so that it  becomes truly a ‘Building for All’,  a building useable for worship and prayer but also for use by the whole community.

A lot of hard work has been done and very soon we will formally launch this project. We have about half the funding in place but still have to raise about £250,000 to make it happen. Prices have risen dramatically over time and since the pandemic. We are determined to go on and achieve this transformation for the benefit of the community at large and for the church. On Sunday 26th September at 10am we have harvest festival and as part of that, will launch the project. We’ve known the potential for this transformation. Come and share the excitement and get on board.

Because I am retiring, some may wonder if this will go on. It will. We have a strong committee and have gathered together the support needed for that committee to do well.

Thank you all for your support over the years and months and thank you in advance for your continued support as we work together in the future. If you have queries, then do contact Revd Wilma Colley on revwilmacolley@gmail.com
